Grahame has worked for more than 30 years in crop protection and root crop agronomy in the Pacific and South East Asia.

- served with UN Food and Agriculture Organisation and South Pacific Commission (now Secretariat for the Pacific Community)
- founding member and chairman of PestNet – an non-government organisation with 500 members providing, by email, the Pacific and Asia with information and advice on crop protection
- team leader, Workd Bank InfoDev project Linking Farmers to Crop Protection Networks, North Malaita Province, Solomon Islands .
