Resilient youth livelihoods for climate change

resilient youth report

TerraCircle carried out this work for the Green Climate Funded projects under SOLKAS for Save the Children and the Solomon Islands Government.

TerraCircle has completed a study of the needs of youth in Solomon Islands to develop climate resilient enterprises.

TerraCircle Associates Claudine Watoto and Inia Barry led the field work in Malaita and Makira provinces with support from core member Tony Jansen working remotely.

The participatory research looked into youth and community perspectives on the barriers and opportunities for more resilient and sustainable livelihoods.

The research results were presented to government, civil society and private sector stakeholders sin a workshop in Honiara which led to the develop of a road map report.

The road map suggests key thematic focus areas to overcome the systematic constraints that young people face to establishing enterprises in rural areas of the Solomon Islands.

The work was carried out by TerraCircle for SOLKAS — a Green Climate Fund project of Save the Children and the Solomon Islands government.
