Journalist | sustainable development specialist
Russ Grayson is a Tasmania‑based journalist and sustainable development practitioner with experience in grassroots international development, permaculture, urban food systems, community engagement and bush guiding and outdoor education. He serves as Organisational Secretary for TerraCircle Inc, supporting locally‑led initiatives in the Solomon Islands and rthe Southwest Pacific.
Over a career spanning print and online journalism, photojournalism, project management, development education and bush guiding as a ranger, Russ has contributed to food security and livelihood projects across the Southwest Pacific – notably with the Kastom Garden Program in the Solomon Islands through APACE (Appropriate Technology for Community and Environment) and TerraCircle.
His work integrates communication skills with practical expertise, producing training manuals, policy resources and visual documentation for both community and donor audiences.
