I have been providing services for last 18 years in the areas of:

I have worked in the crisis/ emergency programmes and also worked on different high-level development programmes including natural resources management, elections, transparency and accountability, access to justice (rule of law), peacebuilding, youth and women empowerment, violence against women and girls and education. 

Experience

DSE and PIANGO Chairman & Freelance Consultant

  • project planning, budgeting and oversight of projects focused on various thematic areas including gender equality, peacebuilding, transparency and accountability, youth empowerment, democratic governance, health, and education
  • supervise the data collection (both qualitative and quantitative) process and development of analytical data analysis

  • support board on an interim period for recruitment of new KGA staff after redundancy exercise
  • develop the target driven M&E plan and assessment tools for the projects
  • provide quality assurance support to the team on data collection methods, FGD, interviews, desk review, reporting purposes
  • lead the process monitoring and review exercises
  • review of cooperate plan in preparation for AGM
  • managing and coordinating ongoing projects. 

Rural Development Programme (RDP) — Team Leader 

The Provincial Support Unit Team Leader (PSU TL) is responsible for the overall planning, implementation and monitoring of all RDP activities in the province. For Component 1, the PSU TL: 

  • supports the Provincial government in coordinating, managing, implementing and monitoring all Component 1 activities and staffing
  • lead the community engagement and interaction related work under the projects
  • monitoring the implementation of all communication and training activities in the province
  • review preliminary sub-project proposals, supports the selection process and appraise subprojects technical design
  • supervise the implementation by Sub-project Implementation Committees (SICs)
  • lead the verification exercise to oversee that implementation of projects are undertaken as per the agreed plans and objectives
  • assist the Provincial government during subproject cycle, including: (i) in following RDP procedures, (ii) instruction to CHs (iii) communication on problems related with the C1 implementation.

RDP — Productive Sector Research Officer  

  • lead the overall data collection process for the research/assessments on productive sector
  • coordinate and conduct Research activity on productive sectors 
  • debriefing on findings of Research with the stakeholders, particularly government counterparts and elected representatives
  • provide comprehensive advice and support to opposition members on productive sectors issues during parliament meetings 
  • draft press statements to Press Secretary for press release.

EU-Rural Advancement Micro Programme (RAMP) Capacity Building Coordinator 

  • coordinate RAMP inputs to a varied portfolio of micro-projects across a range of sectors, including social infrastructure, enterprise development and community development
  • ensure close collaboration is developed and maintained with all RAMP partners
  • provide comprehensive advice and support to project-holders and associated state and non-state actors on all aspects of the programme, including grant financing arrangements, project implementation, monitoring and reporting requirements
  • ensure the timely preparation and submission of progress and other reports using approved formats
  • provide adequate and supportive management to office staff and visiting colleagues
  • ensure the financial integrity and confidentiality of the programme at all times
  • visit projects on a regular and scheduled basis to maintain an update on project progress
  • promote capacity-building and sustainability at all levels of the programme
  • maintain procedural and regulatory systems in an efficient manner and promote effective outcomes
  • enable the smooth flow of information, logistics and inputs across the programme
  • work with the Administrator to identify appropriate training opportunities for staff. 

EU Non State Actors (NSA) Support ProgrammeProgramme Coordinator/Head of Training & Support) 2010-2012 

  • supervise administrative and contractual components to implement the NSA development programme and assist where necessary, with administrative and contractual activities
  • develop the progress report and other learning documents
  • lead the assessment/research studies team
  • assist the Programme Steering Committee with relevant executive services and be part of the Grant evaluation Committee
  • lead the field monitoring/verification and evaluation visits to oversee the implementation of grant contracts
  • assist in the management of the process of Call for Proposals namely the preparation of guidelines, selection criteria and grant awards
  • co-ordinate weekly and monthly operational management meetings
  • liaising with key Non-State Actors networks and their members, key ministries, and donors to enhance coordination of support to NSAs
  • participate in and actively contribute to the formulation of strategies to support civil society
  • assisting in conducting Training Needs Assessment (TNA) for Non State Actors and analysis of the TNA.

Melanesian Farmer First NetworkNetwork Coordinator

Lead a network that is sharing and building capacity and support for NGOs to provide effective, farmer centered in Sustainable Agriculture services in rural areas to improve food security & livelihoods. 

  • responsible for the management of the network that work with 5 NGOs in Melanesians, 3 in PNG, 1 in Vanuatu and 1 in Solomon Islands
  • planning with partners on their activity for the grant scheme 
  • working agreements for the grants 
  • monitoring of field activities based on their plan 
  • liaise with other stakeholder in their country both NGOs and Government 
  • organize management meeting, regional training for partners and identify training providers 
  • develop budget and plan for management approval 
  • represent network at donor meeting and conferences both internal and external 
  • undertakes regular field work in remote areas as well as networking with regional and international organizations, including assisting the network to build linkages between NGOs, FAO, SPC (PAPGREN, DSAP) and international NGOs.

  • responsible for training staff and village trainers on Community Development Approach

  • Situation of Children Working and Living on the streets in Solomon Islands — this rapid assessment on the situation of children working, walking and living on the streets in Solomon Islands, particularly the city of Honiara, was commissioned by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The issue of children working, walking and living on the streets was identified as a key child protection issue by the Homes of Peace and Empowerment (HOPE) Trust and other stakeholders, prompting the prioritization of this rapid assessment.April 2024
