Iriri
The first APACE effort in a community-based renewable energy project, now operated for 18 years by local villagers for development on their own terms.
The penstock is supported on living tree supports as it passes down from the dam.

The Iriri project has received national and international recognition. There was a stamp issue to commemorate it.
APACE also published a book, "Replanting the Banana Tree".
This documented the achievements of Iriri and the some of the development lessons that can be drawn. Copies of this book are still available for purchase by contacting APACE.
